It is  ‘that’ point of the summer, the downhill slope. It is at this time as we head into August that our focus changes a bit.  Do we try a pack as much in as we can before the school year hits or maybe take a few more weekend days to rest and relax around the house.  I can tell you now that we have 4 kids whether we are at home or away, there is no such thing as rest and relaxation.  However, the anxiety of not taking full advantage of the time we have left before the upcoming changes in our weekly routine hit is in full effect.  I am in the second week of a 4 week stint away from work, taking care of the family as my wife transitions back to work following her maternity leave.  I had sky high hopes and dreams for my time off.  Get closer to my kids, finish a few projects around the house, read, write, work on the ‘URFWI’ website, and a few more.  The first one I can say has come to fruition, the rest...not so much.  We always want more out of the things that surround us.  We want it to be better, faster, more efficient, my dad always tells me to set easier expectations, but God did not program me in that format.  When Saturday night hits and I am dead tired at 7, you bet there will be a fire, a beer or two, and a few s’mores.

Would you like s’more?

I wanted to get some feedback from you.  If you play our fantasy contest I had a question on the entry form, “Name one thing you would like to see more of from United Race Fans of Wisconsin”.  As I take a few moments for myself this morning, I’d like to answer the first half of entries that have come in as there are many good suggestions.
Maybe a message board?
This is a great suggestion and something we may be able to implement given our current resources.  My question back is being that Facebook and Twitter act as our social media message board, what is different or what would happen on a message board that is not already happening on our social platforms?

More photos.
YES YES and YES!  I am trying to figure out the best way to do this.  Maybe a scrolling photo page on the website?  I have 4 years of photos at home, plus all the photos you tweet and post to facebook.  If you are an amateur photographer that would like someone to house your photos, we can provide that as well!  Please reach out.

Posts (Social) from other members.
You all heard it here!  Someone just called out the other members, time to get to work!
If you would like to takeover our social media pages for a night out #atthetrack please contact us.  Do you feel having a signup form on the website for this would be beneficial?

More comments on facebook posts.
Again, you heard it here!  Why so quiet?

More results tweets.
This is one that some mistake our group as being.  We are not a media platform in that sense.
The focus of ‘URFWI’ is not to report.  It’s purpose is to look at the industry we all love and show it from the fan perspective.  Sights, sounds, stands, cars, food, parking, and so on.
Having said that.  We can be the one stop shop for getting that information.  If you would like to help us develop a results page please reach out.
***Asphalt fans checkout https://www.wiasphaltracingnews.com/ for a start.

Dirt racing!
We would love to see more dirt fans participating.  It starts with those of you we already have as members!  We need your participation first!

Getting our bumper stickers on cars and have more drivers join. I think drivers are fans too!
YES YES and YES!  Don’t forget the mission of ‘URFWI’ we want to get new fans in the stands and bring back the old fans too.  I feel we are on the cutting edge of connecting the casual unconnected fan to the drivers so we need them too!

Blogs/reports.
Well, here is one for you haha!  If you want to try blogging please reach out by contacting us here.  We can house your blog long, short, or anything else you may want to produce.

Ticket giveaways.
Anyone have some tickets to give away?

More members!
Request your member/marketing cards, keep one for yourself, hand the rest out.  I usually send 6, if you need more let me know.  Send a self addressed stamped envelope to:
Rich Zimpel 316 W. 3rd St.  Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
Or find us at an event (coming soon: WIR 8/1 & Beaver Dam 8/12)

More fantasy events.
I have to be honest, about 10 is all I have in me.   The weekly warrior flopped.  If you would like to produce the results I am open to anything and everything!  The key here is time, if I could wave a magic wand we could do more.  Anyone know a college kid that is looking to develop an app?
